International Clients - Welcome to My MarketPlace Builder we're happy to have you here. We have a true passion to help entrepreneurs launch successful marketplaces. Please read the below notes before ordering our software.
A little bit about us - we are an USA based company, and all our efforts are working toward enhancing the software for US based businesses. That doesn't mean we don't work with international clients, but that does mean you won't fit into our standard product. In other words, you are not eligible for our $89/month Starter Package and must subscribe to the Customize Package.
Why you ask? A few reasons that we've highlighted below:
Feature: Payment processor. We have chosen a few processors to integrate into our software for payment processing. Those processing companies take US based businesses and process in USD (US Dollars). Sure, people from other countries can mark purchases inside our software, the currency is converted to USD before it can be distributed to the marketplace or to the seller/service provider. That means all payouts occur in USD at this time, in our standard package.
What that means for International clients: If Stripe or Stripe Connect isn't offered in your country then 1 - you need to find a processor that fits your business model, 2 - pay a one time fee of $4,000+ to integrate that processor into our existing software. The fee will cover the management of the project, expensive reading the developer backlogs explaining how to integrate that software to ours, integration of all necessary methods, and extensive testing before releasing the final integrated product. This whole process takes around one month from the date of ordering.
Feature: Google Maps. We integrate with the US for mapping. Any user that registers in the marketplace for the first time will choose a city, state that is based in the US.
-When a user adds a product they will enter a US shipping address connected with USPS. That address is then calculated when the buyer enters their US address at checkout for real time rates. There is no international shipping option because most US based marketplaces starting out do not want international sellers until the US market is grown.
-When a user adds a service or rental they enter their address they offer the service at, which ties directly into the buyer who searches for service providers in the US that can meet their needs. There is also no need to open up the entire world for a service or rental based marketplace for a Version 1 site.
What that means for international clients: Customer must pay $4,000+ integrate the mapping for your country specifically. This will change the formatting for adding product/service/rental. This will change the formatting in the way users search while browsing. This will change the locations available while signing up, also restricting them to the locations you want to offer - which is a benefit to international marketplaces
Feature: Language: English. Our marketplaces are constructed in English. While there is an extensive site wording section to change 90% of the text at no charge, there is no ability to toggle between languages. The reason is that we build new features every single day and don't have time to also create them in each language - or in a format that allows language formatting. That would increase time and cost of features for all clients, and we'd no longer be affordable for bootstrap entrepreneurs that live in the US - which is our top priority.
What that means to international clients: If the site is meant to be launched in an alternate language, or toggle between multiple then a one time fee will be incurred from $3,500+ $1,000 per language. This also means all later add features will cost more because they will be built in English and then having alternate language capabilities will also need to be built in.
Feature: Shipping Tools. Our product is set up to allow for real time shipping calculations with the United States Postal Service (USPS), but all other shipping partners require an upgraded shipping API. We find it simpler to offer only 3 shipping options. 1 - Free/No shipping, 2 - Custom shipping price provided by seller, 3 - real time calculated rate with one shipping partner. Anything outside of this requires a customization. Also, as discussed above, the formatting for a seller to add their shipping location and a buyer to purchase is purposely only US addresses to prevent a person across the world from buying an item and for example, receiving free shipping when it was only intended to ship domestically.
What this means to international clients. Additional shipping partner integration incurs the one time integration fee of $3,500. The formatting also needs to be changed at checkout to allow for addresses at the requested country to be allowed. That fee is $650.
