On Windows
Full Screen
To take a screen capture on Windows, you need to press the "Windows" key at the same time as the "ImpPt" or "PrtScr" key on your keyboard:
This will automatically save a full screenshot of your screen and save it in the "Screenshot" folder located inside the "Pictures" folder on your Windows computer.
Snip and Sketch
To activate the Snip and Sketch tool in Windows 10, press the Windows Key + Shift + S:
This will open a tool where you'll be able to select the specific area you want to take the screenshot of. After saving the screenshot, it will be copied to your clipboard and you'll be able to paste it like any other kind of text you copy with Ctrl + C
On MacOS
Fullscreen
To take a screenshot of the fullscreen on MacOS, press the Shift key, Command Key, and 3 key at the same time:
This will save the screenshot to your desktop
Portion of the screen
Press the Shift key, Command Key and 4 key at the same time to open up a tool that will allow you to select the portion of the screen you want to capture:
A crosshair will appear that will allow you to change the section of the screen to capture. After releasing the mouse, the screenshot will be saved to your desktop.
Mobile Devices
Android
To take a screenshot on an Android device, press the Lock button and the Volume Up/Down button at the same time. A screenshot will appear on the screen of your phone and it will be saved to a default folder on your phone, usually named Screenshots:
iOS
To take a screenshot on an iOS device, press the Side button and the Home button at the same time:
To find the screenshot, go to Albums > Media Types > Screenshots.
Alternative: Flameshot
Flameshot is a free tool that allows you to take screenshots and also provides tool to modify the screenshot before saving it or copying to the clipboard. To download Flameshot, click on this link.
Flameshot is available for Linux, Windows and MacOS.
After installing Flameshot press the ScrCpt or ImpPnt button to launch Flameshot.
Your mouse will change into a crosshair and you'll be able to select the area of the screen to capture. On the margins of the screenshot you'll see the tools that Flameshot provides to modify your screenshot. We encourage you to explore the tools that Flameshot provides!
When you're done editing your screenshot, press Ctrl + C to copy it to the clipboard or Ctrl + S to save the screenshot as a file on your computer.
